I had taken a random day off and I got a phone call at 8:30 a.m. telling me that a bed had become available at St. Michael's. I had to make a decision by tomorrow and mom had to move in on Tuesday or Wednesday. I went to check out the facility and it seemed fine. She was in a quad, but it looked like a hospital room so that was fine. Mom always felt safe in hospitals. We had gone through a spate of hospital visits in the past.
I talked to my uncle and his wife had been there for a short time. Also a friend's grandma had been there. I made the decision in the afternoon to accept the offer.
Mom went to daycare on Tuesdays so I booked a taxi to pick her up from the daycare and take her to the nursing home. While she was at the nursing home, I could go to mom's place and pack her suitcase. Mom's friend would pick me and the suitcase up and we would meet mom at the nursing home. A great plan.

AH is sick

AH called me late in the afternoon to let me know that he was sick and wouldn't be able to give mom dinner. What could I do? Too late to find a replacement.
I think we were both hungry so I decided to have a snack first.
We both had a cracker with humus and half an orange.
I made rice and mapodofu and mom helped me to make sunomono and miso soup.
For dessert, I sliced up an orange.
We took out the organic garbage too.

Found out that mom and I have a dentist appointment tomorrow.
I contacted the agency to let them know that mom did not need lunch service for tomorrow.
Turns out that mom hasn't been getting lunch service on Fridays for months!
Poor mom. No wonder she's been getting into the snacks and cookies.

Got a call from the agency letting me know that the support worker wasn't able to access mom's suite and administer her medication. Hopped on the 9:40 p.m. bus and went to mom's. She was wearing her pink pajamas as she came to investigate who had come into her suite. She had taken a bath and had left the water in the tub so I drained it. I gave her the medication and gave her a hug before I left. I was able to make the 10:15 p.m. bus to go home.

No to vitamins

Mom said she wasn't going to take her vitamins this morning. She asked me why she had to take vitamins. I told her that they were nutritious. In the end I took them myself.
At breakfast she complained that she couldn't eat so much. She ate toast, a piece of cheese, a fried egg and a few pieces of orange. She said she wouldn't eat the bacon. I cut the bacon up, but she only ate one piece.
I don't know what got into her. She must have gotten out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.
She seems very suspicious.
Last night she was very cooperative. She ate a lot for dinner and an orange for a bedtime snack.
We did exercises and watched ice skating.
After breakfast she took her vitamins and helped dry the dishes. She's watching ice skating on television right now.

Mom and I went to visit the doctor today and she is doing well.
The rash has already disappeared. The doctor thinks it is caused by the cold weather and anxiety.
I got a call around 8:30 p.m. from the support worker and she said mom wasn't answering the phone.
I tried calling too, but nothing. I called mom's neighbour and got nothing.
I decided that I had better go and check up on her.
I was worried that maybe something had happened to her.
She was in bed when I got there at 9:30 p.m. There was water in the tub, so I drained it. Mom didn't remember taking a bath.
I administered her medication.
Mom was anxious about tomorrow morning.
I hope everything goes okay for her tomorrow.

Mom's kitchen floor looks super clean!
I asked her how she did it, but she couldn't remember.
She also cleaned the dish drain.
I hope she just used elbow grease.
I don't think she knows how to use cleansers.
She doesn't even use dish soap when she washes the dishes.
She was very proud of herself.
She must have done it this morning before her afternoon daycare.
