Phone is off the hook

Mom had the phone off the hook again.  Luckily I had talked to MG and he so kindly knocked on my mom's door and put the phone back on the hook.  Mom could have missed going to New Vista.

I tried to phone mom to cue her that Keiko was coming to visit her; however, the line was busy so I couldn't get through.  I tried several times during the day, but the line was busy.  I called AH, but he said he had to work overtime.  I called mom's neighbour, but she didn't pick up.  Reluctantly I went to mom's place after work.  I've seen her everyday since Friday and I wanted time off.  I arrived shortly after 5 p.m.  I could smell something burning.  Mom had burnt a pot trying to heat up miso soup.
I found the phone on the coffee table.  She had forgotten to return it to the charger.  Everything was okay.  I  was so stressed.  Yesterday I had mild chest pains.
