Mom plays hit the balloon with the foam stick

Mom was mostly alert, but she wouldn't eat or drink.  Then she pretended she was sleeping.  She said she was very tired.
I took her food to the fish tank room.
Mom participated in the hit the balloon with a foam stick game.  She was quite alert.  She was engaged and hit the balloon with the stick and her hand.
After the activity, she was alert and drank some Boost and apple juice.  I was even to feed a half teaspoon of pureed broccoli.
Someone had removed mom's beverages and her apple sauce.  I noticed when I was chatting with the nurse so she went to the kitchen and got me more Boost and apple juice.  The apple juice was prepackaged and had a foil top.  Mom peeled the foil off.  I was surprised.  She drank all the apple juice with little prompting.  In fact, she was quite independent when I wasn't paying attention.
