Casino

Thursday, September 22, 2016
I was waiting at the Casino from 11:00.  I waited 15 minutes and then began to wonder where they were.  I checked the buffet seating area.  I checked with the doorman.  At 11:25 I called St. Michael's.  The receptionist said they had left 15 minutes ago because there was a delay.  Someone had to go to the bathroom.  The bus pulled in at around 11:45.  Mom was excited to see me and tried to get off the bus, but the staff stopped her.
I gave mom a hug.  Mom and Donna were excited to be off the bus.  They were excited to be at the Casino.  I led them through the Casino to the buffet lunch, but Donna said she had to go to the washroom, so we had to go back to the washroom.  I got mom and Donna seated, but it took a long time for the others to arrive.  I didn't know what the protocol was.  I didn't know if we had a different menu or if we were going to get served, etc.  Mom was getting grouchy so I thought I would at least serve them soup and get them some water.  Then I went to get them food.  I served Donna first and mom was not happy.  When I brought her plate, she said she wasn't going to eat it and put it in front of my seat.  I went to get another plate that was supposed to be for myself, but I ended up giving it to mom.  Mom was mad when I helped her cut the chicken.  I cut Donna's chicken for her too.  The food was pretty good.  It was a mixture of Chinese and Western food.
I got coffee and dessert.  Donna said the coffee was too strong so I poured half in another cup and added more hot water and milk.  Donna and I enjoyed the soft serve ice cream, but mom said she didn't want any.  She ate half of a mini cream puff and said she didn't like it.
We had an hour to kill after the buffet so I took mom and Donna to the washroom and for a walk around the meeting and conference centre.  They had some nice alcoves with nice furniture.  Mom and Donna looked happy just to be sitting there.  But then mom got restless and said she wanted to go home.  I told her we had to wait until 2:00.  It was another half an hour.  I saw some other people from St. Michael's so I took Mom and Donna to join them.  Mom was not happy.  Finally at 1:45 we saw Ming pull up with the bus.  Mom was anxious to get on the bus.  Donna followed.  Once Mom and Donna were safely strapped in I said my good-byes,  Mom and Donna waved enthusiastically at me through the window.
Later this evening, I found out that Uncle Tom had passed way.
