Holding hands

Friday, September 9, 2016
As soon as I was settled, mom said she wasn't feeling well and didn't want to have dinner.
I told her to go to the bathroom.
She left the table and I drank my tea and waited for dinner to be served.  Their table was served last.  Mom had already drank her juice and milk.
I went to get mom.  She was sitting on her bed.  I asked her if she had been to the toilet.  She said that's a good idea and went to the toilet.
When she came out, I told her we were going somewhere.
Mom doesn't like to go first.  She doesn't mind if I hold her hand and walk beside her.
We went back to the table.  Mom looked at the food on her plate and said she couldn't possibly eat all that.  I told her she just had to eat a little.
The meal was chicken, mixed veggies and potato.  I had oven friend potatoes and mom had mashed potatoes.  She didn't eat her potatoes, but she ate all her veggies and her chicken.  I gave her a piece of chopped orange that Jackie shared with the table.  Mom said she didn't want it, but she ate two pieces when I put them on her plate.  Mom said she didn't want to eat her rice pudding, but then she said she would have a taste.  She ate a few spoonfuls.  I asked her if it tasted good and she said "no", but I think she liked it.
After dinner we read together from a primary level Japanese reader.
We went to "the Horse Races."  Mom and Donna won a chocolate each.
Then we went to the dog park.  There were a lot of dogs.  We walked up to the fence to get a better look.  Mom stood a few paces back from the fence.
I checked mom's laundry hamper and there was nothing there except for a rotten banana wrapped in a paper towel.  I looked through her drawer and picked out what I thought were used socks and underwear.
