Bus connections good today. Mom and Donna were just about to sit in the fish tank room with Shanta. I asked Donna if she wanted to go to the dog park. She said she would check with mom. I don't think mom really cared, but they were happy to go.
Mom was wearing a pair of pants that Auntie Sumi had given her. They weren't her style or colour, but they fit.
Mom refused to wear her jacket, but I carried it for her knowing that as soon as we stepped outside she would want it. Donna had her coat, sunglasses and visor.
Luckily there were dogs in the park. We watched them play.
Mom wanted to go back after about 10 minutes so we did.
Donna wanted to join the others in the television room so I took mom back to the room to put away the coats. I wanted to take mom to see Uncle Tom, but for some reason she didn't want to go in the elevator. I brought her back to the group and went to see Uncle Tom myself.
He was lying in bed with the lights on, teeth in, watching television. He turned the television off to be polite. He said Auntie Reiko had given him fish and rice for dinner. We looked at the photos on the wall of his family. There was a photo of Colleen with a porpoise.
Uncle Tom said he had fallen.
He was hoping that my mom was going to come and we were going to sing songs.
When I went back upstairs, the cake and hot cocoa had been served. I gave mom and Donna a hug and waved good bye to Shanta.
