Side door

Tuesday, September 13, 2016
Mom had already consumed her beverages.
The dessert came first.  I told her that she should wait until after dinner to eat the dessert.  She took a spoonful anyways.  I told her that everyone else was waiting for their dinner, but she took another spoonful.  Then Donna told her that she should wait until after dinner and she stopped.
She was very interested in the container of pumpkin that I brought.  She told me it should be opened.  I opened it and she said that she would have none of it.
We had my favourite Greek dinner.  I cut up mom's chicken thigh for her, even though she objected.
She ate pretty well.  I put a piece of pumpkin on her place.  She asked me not to do that, but I ignored her.  She ate the pumpkin.
It was a full house for card bingo.  Mom and Donna couldn't even sit beside each other.  Mom sat beside Ankica and Mrs. Yao.  Mom won a bag of ketchup chips and Shanta won a bag of corn chips.
Shanta gave me her bag, but I gave it to the volunteer.  I left mom's bag of potato chips at the nurses' station.
I grabbed the opportunity go out the side door at the end of the hall to go to the park.
Mom wasn't there.  She had ducked into the washroom.  I had asked her if she needed to go, but I guess she just suddenly changed her mind.  I felt bad because the nurse was going to lock the door, but the nurse said that she would go and make a phone call first.  Mom finally came and we went to the dog park.
There was a strange man there.  He kept slapping his thighs.  I asked him to move so that the girls could sit down.  He obliged, but continued with his slapping and clapping.  He was waiting for his wife.
We saw a few dogs running around and it was enough to satisfy Donna.
