Mom had already helped herself to some drinks and rearranged our cutlery. I brought some bubble wrap for mom to play with. Donna, Edward and Jacquie were all there. Mom kept refusing to eat anything. Finally, after everyone left, she ate about 2/3 of her food including her pureed carrots, potatoes and gravy, vanilla pudding and all of her beverages.
I massaged her legs because they were cold. Also, mom was slouching.
After dinner, I took mom back to the room to toilet her. She was reasonably cooperative. I think the leg massages help. Also, she may have known she was going to have a bowel movement. Her diaper was wet, so I removed it. I put a towel over her legs to keep her warm I gave her some bubble wrap to keep her occupied. She produced some poop. A medium amount. We were very happy. I cleaned mom up.
Then we went for a walk to the lobby. I brought her photo book and a quilt to throw over her legs and keep her warm. I massaged her legs and propped them up on a chair and then draped the quilt over them. We looked at her photo book. She was engaged and happy.
I took mom back to her room. I took her to the washroom one more time, but this time, she insisted that she did not need to use the toilet. I put her back in the wheelchair, draped the quilt over her legs and took her to sit with Donna in the fish tank room.
Mom chose bubble wrap over half a banana. I ate the banana.
