Mom was sitting with Donna and Edward and Jacquie had just arrived. I could smell poop. I decided to take mom to the washroom. Mom was actually quite cooperative. She had a diaper full of diarrhea. She also pooped a mass into the toilet. I cleaned her bum first with toilet paper and then wet towels. She said her bum hurt. I noticed there was blood. Could be hemorrhoids. She was very happy to be cleaned up. We came back to the dining room. Mom would not eat or drink. I asked staff for a half a banana and she only took one bite.
After dinner she wouldn't come with me. I left her at the table while I took her Boost, pudding, etc. back to her room. Sometimes I am successful when I feed her in her room.
Michael wanted to play cards, but I said it depended on my mom. We didn't play cards this night.
Chris arrived shortly before 6:00 pm. We sat with him as he ate. Mom was in a better mood. I was going to bring her food, but I suspected that she had had another bowel movement. This time she went with me willingly and I changed her diaper again. She took a pee and I changed her diaper because there was a little poop on it.
We sat in mom's room and chatted. I tried to get mom to eat something. I gave a baby cookie to Chris and told him to eat it noisily. I gave another cookie to mom and she took a bite and chewed it. It is a rice rusk cookie for babies. She drank a bit of Boost.
Later, I took her back to sit with Donna. I told Donna that I would take her to sit with Reiko and Donna asked who is Reiko? Maybe I should have said Riko. Anyways they were happy to sit together. I brought mom's unfinished banana and her Boost so she could maybe consume it.
I asked the nurse to report the blood on her bum. Mom also had a chunk of aspirin that she didn't swallow. I asked that the aspirin be crushed and mixed with jam.
Chris mentioned that some people parked in the visitors parking lot and then walked over to a nearby church. I mentioned this also to the nurse. I forgot to mention that the church should be notified that their parishioners are not to park in the nursing home parking lot.
